We’re Supporting World Diabetes Day!

We’re Supporting World Diabetes Day! Laura Kolodjeski

After weeks of internal planning, the day has arrived – happy World Diabetes Day! We have plenty going on here at the Sanofi US campus in Bridgewater, N.J., to lend our support to the global awareness effort. As seen in previous events, like the American Diabetes Association’s Alert Day, Sanofi US employees always appreciate learning about the diabetes community and participating in awareness and advocacy efforts.

What’s really exciting about today’s festivities is that Cherise Shockley has graciously agreed to join us and share her story with our employees as an ambassador of the diabetes online community! As we’ve said before, the success of DSMA and Blue Fridays is such a testament to Cherise’s hard work and ingenuity along with the willingness of the DOC to support its own. When I think about how much I have learned from you all over the past year, I know introducing Cherise and her story to the rest of my colleagues will be both insightful and inspirational.

In addition to Cherise’s appearance, we have lots of other great activities planned for today. We will hear from leaders within the organization speak to our commitment in the field of diabetes, NBA legend Darryl Dawkins will lead a walk around our campus as a demonstration of the importance of exercise to overall good health, and former New York Knicks star Walt Frazier will join Darryl and Cherise for a meet & greet. Education will be our focus in the cafeteria area, where a number of booths will showcase our various diabetes assets and tools like the GoMeals app. In addition to company-specific education, an American Diabetes Association representative will provide employees with expert knowledge on diabetes and overall health.

Look for a full recap of our efforts in the coming days. We’ll plan to take plenty of pictures to show you how we participated. I am also excited to hear how you are showing your support for World Diabetes Day! Feel free to include your stories in the comments below.

All the best,

Laura K.
