A Fond Farewell to 2011

How can it be that 2011 is nearly over? This year has simply gone by too fast, perhaps because time flies when you enjoy what you’re doing! When I think about all that took place this year, I can’t help but smile.
It’s been an incredibly busy year for our US Diabetes Division as we strive to deliver on our vision for the future. And, as Dennis Urbaniak pointed out in our conversation, community engagement, both online and in-person, is critical to our success. I know I will forever look back on 2011 as a year full of learning experiences which I believe to be a testament to you all and the interactions you have afforded me. I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to hear from and learn from you.
With that said, it’s now time for me to recharge in anticipation of 2012. Given today is my last day in the office, you will find we won’t be publishing much between now and the start of 2012. In fact, a guest post from my colleague Gipper Monson next week will be our final post of the year.
I’m sincerely looking forward to spending quality time with family and friends over the holidays and hope the same for you. I also hope that each of you takes some time to reflect on all that you have accomplished in 2011 and consider all that may be in store for 2012.
My very best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season,
Laura K.
