#DSMA (Diabetes Social Media Advocacy) Twitter Chat
Every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST – Online
The diabetes community, family members of people with diabetes and caregivers get together once a week to participate in the #DSMA (Diabetes Social Media Advocacy) Twitter Chat. The topics vary from living with diabetes, media, food, exercise and more.

DSMA Live
Every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST – Online
The #DSMA Twitter chat conversation is taken a step further on Thursdays via a live interview known as DSMA Live. Each week, Cherise Shockley along with co-hosts George Simmons and Scott Johnson, speak about the current week’s topic with a different guest every week. People participate by calling in or chatting on the message board.

Kennebunks Tour de Cure
June 3, 2012 – Wells, ME
The Kennebunks Tour de Cure is a fundraising cycling event held at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm to benefit the American Diabetes Association. The Kennebunks Tour de Cure is a ride, not a race with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist (5K, 25K, 50K, 100K, and 100Mi routes).

NBA Nation is the League’s largest mobile basketball playground that travels coast to coast giving fans the opportunity to play games, win prizes and meet players and basketball legends.

ADA 72nd Scientific Sessions
June 8-12, 2012 – Philadelphia, PA – Pennsylvania Convention Center
Attendees at the American Diabetes Association’s 72nd Scientific Sessions are leading the charge to Stop Diabetes by sharing the latest cutting-edge research and learning the most up-to-date information on prevention, treatment and care.

7th Annual Ace for a Cure
June 11, 2012 – Philadelphia, PA
The Ace for a Cure: Smashing out diabetes tennis tournament is held annually at Germantown Cricket Club to support JDRF. Come out and play doubles format on the historic grass and clay courts to support JDRF’s mission to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D).

June 16-17, 2012 – New York City, NY – South Street Seaport
NBA Nation is the League’s largest mobile basketball playground that travels coast to coast giving fans the opportunity to play games, win prizes and meet players and basketball legends.

Healthy Lifestyles Mall Event – Tulsa, OK
June 22-24, 2012 – Tulsa, OK – Woodland Hills Mall
Take part in a pop-a-shot challenge, pose for an interactive photo experience that instantaneously e-mails you a picture of yourself slam dunking, lifting an extreme dumbbell, dancing, or crossing the finish line in a marathon.

June 23-24, 2012 – Washington, DC – Safeway BBQ Battle
NBA Nation is the League’s largest mobile basketball playground that travels coast to coast giving fans the opportunity to play games, win prizes and meet players and basketball legends.

Hope on 2 Wheels
June 23, 2012 – New York, NY and Washington DC
A group of 24 cyclists from around the United States will participate in the first Hope on 2 Wheels bike ride to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The group will convene at JDRF’s New York City Headquarters and will pedal more than 250 miles, non-stop, until they reach Washington DC.
