Back in April, we launched Diabetapedia, a digital resource developed with the goal of creating a single, comprehensive place where anyone can find and share definitions of diabetes-related terms and phrases. In short, we are working to create a resource that not only includes medical terms like A1C and ketone, but also contains diabetes jargon like glucoaster and diaversary.
We are continually seeking input from the diabetes online community on new terms and definitions to add as well as enhancements to help make the definitions more useful and the resource more valuable.
Shortly after launch, we received one request from multiple DOC members: create a Diabetapedia search widget that can be added to any blog or website. Today, I’m happy to announce that a search widget is now available for anyone who would like to add it to their site. A term search can then be initiated on your site and will open Diabetapedia definition results in a new window.
If you’re interested in adding this search widget to your site, just visit this page on Diabetapedia where you’ll find samples of different sizes as well as instructions on how to add the widget to your site. It is as easy as copying and pasting a simple snippet of HTML code and letting Diabetapedia do the rest for you!
We hope you’ll help to continue to raise awareness about Diabetapedia and that you will find this search widget to be a useful element of your blog or website. If you have any suggestions for how we can continue to evolve Diabetapedia to better suit your needs, please submit them here.
My best,
Laura K.
