Make Blue Cool at Your Child’s School this November

Diabetes Awareness Month and World Diabetes Day are just around the corner, so I thought it would be a great idea to put together a guide for parents to help increase awareness about diabetes at their child’s school.
The idea hit me a few months ago when I chatted with Lorraine Sisto of This is Caleb and her son Caleb who lives with type 1 diabetes. We discussed back-to-school preparations for children with diabetes and the people who care for them. During our conversation, Lorraine and Caleb shared some of the things they’ve done to raise diabetes awareness at Caleb’s school.
Lorraine and Caleb have had great success doing small things to make a difference, and I thought others may be able to do the same. I worked with Lorraine to create a guide of ideas below and hope you find it helpful.
A special thanks to Lorraine for her help with this!
All the best,
Laura K.
