DSMA Live: Parents Talk
Every Monday at 9 p.m. EST – Online

#DSMA (Diabetes Social Media Advocacy) Twitter Chat
Every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST – Online
The diabetes community, family members of people with diabetes and caregivers get together once a week to participate in the #DSMA (Diabetes Social Media Advocacy) Twitter Chat. The topics vary from living with diabetes, media, food, exercise and more.
DSMA Live
Every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST – Online
The #DSMA Twitter chat conversation is taken a step further on Thursdays via a live interview known as DSMA Live. Each week, Cherise Shockley, along with co-hosts George Simmons and Scott Johnson, speak about the current week’s topic with a different guest every week. People participate by calling in or chatting on the message board.
Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes – Philadelphia, PA
October 6, 2012 – Philadelphia, PA
The Philadelphia Step Out Walk will be in downtown Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Participants can choose to walk or run the flat, paved 1 mile, 5K or 10K route.
2nd Annual Cuisine for the Cure – Hampton Roads, VA
October 11, 2012 – Participating Restaurants
Please join the American Diabetes Association for the 2nd Annual Cuisine for the Cure. Participating restaurants will donate 15% of sales to the ADA supporting research, education and advocacy efforts.
Focus on Technology – Sugar Land, TX
October 12-14 – Sugar Land Marriott Town Square
Children with Diabetes (CWD) hopes that the Focus on Technology conference will help you and your family gain a better understanding of the technology currently available to people with type 1 diabetes, as well as technology which may be coming shortly down the road.
ADA EXPO – Minneapolis, MN

The 34th Annual Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes – Chicago, IL

Help the JDRF Illinois Chapter honor Ron Santo’s incredible legacy, while joining them in their search for ways to prevent, better treat and ultimately cure type 1 diabetes.
Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes – San Jose, CA
October 14, 2012 – San Jose, CA
The San Jose Step Out Walk will be in downtown San Jose at the Guadalupe River Park Arena Green. Participants can choose to walk or run the flat, paved 1 mile, 5K or 10K route along the beautiful Guadalupe River trail.
JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes – Death Valley, CA
October 18-21, 2012 – Death Valley, CA
Riders from around the world take on two challenges: raising the money needed to fund research for better treatments and a cure for diabetes, and reaching a personal training goal to prepare for a destination cycling experience.
Fall Family Camp 2012 – Rutledge, GA
October 26-28, 2012 – Camp Twin Lakes
Diabetes affects the whole family and Camp Kudzu’s Family Camps are for the whole family. Families arrive at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, GA on Friday evening, October 26, and stay until 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 28.
Healthy Harvest Fun Walk/5K Run and Diabetes Expo – Dallas, TX
October 27, 2012 – Diabetes Health and Wellness Institute at Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center
The DHWI Healthy Harvest Fun Walk/5K Run and Diabetes Expo is an awareness and fundraising initiative. The DHWI Healthy Harvest Fun Walk/5K Run and Diabetes Expo draws people together in a healthy activity for a worthy cause, raising money for the programs and services of the Institute.
